Petals, Pillars, and Pure Creativity in LA
Our Los Angeles stop on the Intrigue Across America Tour 2026 brought us to the breathtaking setting of Sherwood Country Club, a venue where grand scale meets natural beauty. Tucked into the Santa Monica Mountains, Sherwood offers sweeping mountain views, lush greenery, and a sense of quiet luxury that feels worlds away from the bustle of the city. Inside, the opulent ballroom provided the perfect canvas for towering floral installations and layered reception designs, while the surrounding landscape delivered a stunning backdrop at every turn. With golden California light pouring across the grounds and an incredible community of creatives ready to learn, collaborate, and build together, this stop of the tour felt nothing short of magical. The combination of dramatic scenery, elegant architecture, and hands-on floral artistry made Los Angeles a truly unforgettable chapter of the Intrigue Across America Tour.

Day 1 - Selling Luxury in an Uncertain Economy & Centerpieces
Day One in Los Angeles began with a morning of business-focused education led by Sarah, centered on the evolving nature of luxury clients in today’s market. The conversation explored how luxury buyers are still very much present but are approaching decisions with greater discernment, intention, and an increased focus on relationships. Students discussed the importance of visibility, trust, and long-term connection, along with the role of confident pricing, strategic marketing investment, and maintaining healthy margins. The session reinforced a powerful takeaway: building a thriving luxury business isn’t about chasing trends — it’s about cultivating relationships, communicating value, and leading with confidence.
After lunch, the day shifted from strategy to hands-on design as attendees gathered inside the opulent ballroom at Sherwood Country Club. Bathed in natural light and framed by sparkling chandeliers and sweeping windows, the space became the perfect setting for the afternoon’s floral focus: elevated reception centerpieces. Students worked together to create towering arrangements that rose dramatically above the tables, while lush, garden-style florals filled the space below with texture, movement, and color. The layered approach allowed designers to explore balance, scale, and guest experience — ensuring the height of the centerpieces made a statement without losing the intimacy of the table. The result was a reception design that felt refined, romantic, and full of life, setting the stage beautifully for the creative momentum that would carry into Day Two.
Day One Fun Fact:
- The Intrigue community truly spans the globe. For our LA tour stop, students traveled from places as far as Hawaii and even Mauritius, an island off the coast of Madagascar.
Day 2 - Luxury Floral Installation Masterclass
Day Two in Los Angeles was a full immersion into large-scale ceremony design as attendees worked together to transform the stunning outdoor rotunda at Sherwood Country Club into a lush floral garden. With sweeping mountain views surrounding the space, the focus of the day was a dramatic ceremony aisle and backdrop designed to feel as though the couple was walking through a secret garden.
The aisle itself became a floral pathway, lined with abundant garden-style arrangements that spilled onto the brick floor and guided the eye toward the ceremony backdrop. Layers of roses, ranunculus, and seasonal blooms created the feeling of a blooming meadow, framing the aisle in soft color and texture. The iconic white pillars of Sherwood Country Club were wrapped in lush greenery and cascading florals, climbing upward and drawing the eye toward the architecture above while still feeling organic and connected to the garden-inspired aisle below.
As with every large installation on the Intrigue Across America Tour, teamwork was at the heart of the process. Students collaborated closely, dividing tasks and building each element step by step, from preparing mechanics to layering in florals and refining the final composition. By the end of the afternoon, what began as a series of individual pieces had transformed into a breathtaking ceremony locaaion, an installation that felt immersive, romantic, and perfectly in harmony with the natural beauty of the Los Angeles landscape.
Day 2 Fun Fact:
Oh the ranunculus at this tour stop were just AMAZING. And, the yellow butterfly ranunculus were an abosolute favorite flower for our attendees.
After day 2 wrapped, the Styled Shoots Across America photographers came in to photograph all of the beautiful florals and decor, along with the help of stunning models. Attendees of the workshops get full access to all professional photos once galleries are completed, which means hands were filled with flowers, minds with inspiration, and portfolios with photos!
