Biography:

Jodi Duncan, AIFD was born with a lifelong love of flowers. At only 7 years old, she was frequently found at her neighborhood florist. By 15 she had her first job in a flower shop, & by 19, was a shop owner. The last 20 years have been spent as a freelance designer in Southern Illinois. It is here in the southern midwest that she maintains a boutique location to meet clients & design for weddings, events & interiors. Her 30+ year flower journey brought recognition in state & national design competitions. She received her AIFD accreditation in 2008. As a fierce competition designer, she racked up dozens of metals & trophies from 2008-2013. Jodi was also the second ever “Design Star” for Mayesh Wholesale in 2013. Jodi was a TEDtalk speaker and her “Flower Powered” talk can be found on YouTube along with many other instructional videos. She has been a guest designer at The White House (yes, THAT ONE!) on multiple occasions.
 Having international appeal, she has been invited by Fusion Flowers Magazine to be in their annual Weddings issue, shot on location in Scotland. While in Europe, Jodi was the official press correspondent for Fusion Flowers where she livetweeted the Royal Wedding. In London, she spent time freelancing & assisted with a design program for NAFAS as well as practicing her British accent. She continues to be a featured contributor to Fusion Flowers. Jodi also manages a social media marketing/consulting and coaching agency, socialjodi.com. This agency has many floral industry clients, including Design Master Color Tool. Jodi also holds a principal design position with the award-winning Schaffer Designs of Pennsylvania. As such, she participates in the Philadelphia Flower Show and works for luminaries Bill Schaffer & Kris Kratt on luxe weddings nationwide. Married for 26 years, Jodi has 2 daughters & GRANDDAUGHTER. She has a golden doodle named Fergus, who has matching hair. She enjoys life on the very rural prairie of Southern Illinois.
